AFC Bridgnorth duo make switch to Wolverhampton Casuals

28 September 2020

AFC Bridgnorth can confirm that Dalton Sikhosana and Nathan Derrick have moved to West Midland Regional League Premier rivals, Wolverhampton Casuals.

Dalton

Dalton Sikhosana burst onto the scene in pre-season, often referred to as ‘the rapid lad in midfield’ for Ward’s side. Dalton made appearances for the Meadowmen in 3 pre-season friendly games, coming off the bench every time.

With the highest competition in the team being for one of those all-important midfield spots, Dalton felt as if a move where he’d see more game time would benefit him personally.

The transfer includes an option to return to AFC Bridgnorth should discussions open for the player to re-join Ward’s side.

Nathan

Nathan Derrick was a trialist for Ward’s side in their pre-season friendly against Bustlehome, where they ran out 6-1 winners.

He caught Ward’s eye from minute one and without hesitation, Ward signed him as he saw talent through his electric dribbling and clever mind on and off the ball.

The 21 year old was, like Dalton, very eager to be getting more minutes so has decided a move to Wolverhampton Casuals would work better for him personally.

Similar to Dalton, Derrick’s transfer involves a clause for a possible return to the Meadowmen should talks begin between club and player.

Graham Ward: “I’d like to thank the pair, who I must add are very talented, for all their efforts and commitments to travel every week and play football for our club. The impression you two both gave on me and my team from minute one was professional as ever. We won’t rule out crossing paths again, but for now, you have my best wishes and luck for the future.”

Everyone at AFC Bridgnorth would like to thank both Dalton and Nathan for their combined efforts and wish them the best of luck going forward.
